astro pop, a bang bang.

yesterday we pretended it was july. we tried to BBQ, we rolled in grass, we drank beers and had many laughs. it was so warm and wonderful on that backyard deck. petaluma, why must you be so secretely alluring? with your green fields and real life birds?

bathwater.

The Sutro Baths.
I imagine that the rich kids of yesteryear enjoyed the baths in the middle of summer while snacking on cocktails and ciggarettes, wearing pretty swimming caps and high swim trunks. Today at the baths was much different, we were greeted with clouds and crabs, tankers from China and suns disguised as moons. I will go back to the baths for a picnic come summer, I will bring two dollar wine and vegan sandwiches. I will sit in a shallow pool and chain smoke. It will be perfect.

i am feeling sick and i miss my friend karin.

these are old. not very old, but you've seen photos from this little group before. so why do i post these again? i was thinking that it is easy to think a certain photo is the best one when really it isnt. sometimes you need a few days or weeks to figure out which ones are good. i never have enough patience to thoroughly examine anything, and i dont take enough time to take a step back and think about which photos came out the way i was feeling. i sometimes get caught up in wanting things to look "cool". whatever that means. these two photos were not even in my top ten when i first saw the photos from that night, but now, looking at them again, i see that they do a fine job of expressing how i felt when i took those self portraits, and what i wanted to convey in them: boredom, apathy, laziness and want.
i am still not happy with these photos, but i am happy wish the way they are making me think. so i thought i would share.
miles and i are working on a project now, you will see more of that in a later day.

when winter was summer.

this is alex. he is squinting in the warm sun. i know it isnt nice to post photos of your friends with their eyes closed, but it was such a nice day and it was so warm at the park and alex is handsome regardless of his eyes being in an open state or a closed sleepy state. i love you alex. catch some zzzzz's.
