yesterday we pretended it was july. we tried to BBQ, we rolled in grass, we drank beers and had many laughs. it was so warm and wonderful on that backyard deck. petaluma, why must you be so secretely alluring? with your green fields and real life birds?
i took some film photos about two months ago with miles canon ae-1. i sued 1600 speed film and aimed to get contrasty shots. im not too impressed with any of these, but i think im gonna keep experimenting with film, and more specifically, contrast. anyways, i leanred alot today! miles taught me how to scan negatives and now i feel like i can learn anything!
I think I've been everywhere since the last time I posted, and instead of being armed with a polaroid or digital, I've been shooting with 35 mm film. I did shoot some digital these past few days, as I travelled to Santa Rosa and destroyed the 440 Club with Miriam and hung out in Oakland with Chris Jehly. I have two rolls of film to get developed, and I am super excited and cant wait to get them posted! So, check back soon please!
I feel like I haven't posted in forever, and the truth is, not alot has been happening. I had a small camera tragedy, and I've had some San Francisco blues the past week or two. Yesterday I finally made a break into the social circle I'm apart of and we BBQ'ed. It was an early celebration with our Petaluma lovers for Miles' upcoming birthday. We ate a lot of grilled things, threw darts, took photos, and drank beers. All in all it was a delicious BBQ. I took some digital photos with the Canon Rebel and some polaorids with expired film. I miss feeling good enough to photo, draw, and go out. I need to get happy.
We went out to Pop's for Miriam's birthday celebrations last night. It wasnt as wild as normal, which was probably a good thing for a Thursday Night. We did score 9 free jukebox credits (Madonna, KISS, and Op Ivy ensued) as well as taking a handful of photobooth strips.
I love sharing these with whomever is reading because photobooths are fucking rad, just try and deny it!
Today is Miriam Brummel's birthday and I am so fuckin excited! Miriam is one of my closest friends and when we party together absolute mayhem ensues. Miriam has a big heart which she fills with Mariah Carey, Crushes, Taking photos, and being a great fucking pal. One time Miriam took me to L.A. and showed me around her home turf. Her mom bought us tickets to Disneyland and we drank wine coolers and smirnoff ice on the Donald Duck level of the parking garage. This was after Miriam broke a mini bottle of wine at the convenience store, oops. These are some of my favourite polaroids of Miriam in all her glory and love. I love you girl! Happy Birthday! Dont go Chasin Waterfalls!
