days and nights

two disposable cameras. nights of parties and other stupid shit. meeting people, having fun, laying in the sun....

celebrations

Holland had a birthday. I took many photos, few of which are any good. I was too drunk and having flash issues. Anyways, I posted many of them on facebook, but here are the ones that I really liked. The birthday party was excellent, but as I was as obnoxious as ever. I guess thats too be expected, but I'm still embarassed.

growing old and growing tired and not growing at all

my camera shot up and off with no intention, capturing a stormy sky. i have to decide how to direct my life, the ways i am going right now are not working out to well.

Saturday, March 7

tara, pj, and i.

last night we listened to punk rock and drank lots of beer. we ate falafel (again!) and tara made candy cheeks and for a minute we had 90's bangs and sweet homemade rap beats. oh yeah, we also tried to be a totem pole, too!

entry #151, cooking with robots, teatime

oh hey,
I just realized that last entry was number 150. a milestone! I am happy I havent given up on this blog, though sometimes I have no clue what its function is, or why I post. Originally it was started to have one venue to post the party photos I took of all you guys. But then I got kind of bored with taking party photos all the time, so its turned into a jumble of music, crafts, photos, and food. Recently, Miles and I started a little food blog, its nothing special, but I am a new vegan and its nice to have a little place to catalogue cooking disasters and cooking masterpieces. Anyways, back to THIS blog. I am trying to figure out what to focus on...I think im going to take all the food out of this blog and transfer it over to Cooking With Robots. I think this blog will continue as an arts and crafts kind of blog, with postings of projects I am working on, inspirational things, art shows, photos/photo projects, as well as just nice things I encounter througout my days and the beautiful people I hang with. If that sounds good to you, then keep checkin in... It's fun to do this blog, it keeps me motivated, and its nice to share projects and shit with those of you I dont see on a daily basis!
So on that note, I leave you with a photo of the tea I am enjoying. It's my day off and its so nice to sit at home and drink tea out of a little pot.

lunch.

Yesterday at lunch time I made some red chard and leeks. I added walnuts, salt, and cumin. it was amazing. Miles and I ate it with scoops of brown rice. yum. I never have ANY light in my kitchen, and it breaks my heart. I have a beautiful little studio and no natural light. This is the best photo I could get of my chard, after holding it, in pan, around my window for 10 minutes trying to find the most light.
Miles and I are going to do some modifications to my Polaroid 360 Land Camera in a couple minutes...I will keep you updated on that because its exciting!

Lastly, I've been obsessing over TV on the Radio's first E.P. lately. I was into it a few years back, but I dont think i've listened to it for a few years now. Its amazing, you should re-introduce it to your musical library. Young Liars is an amazing song.
And thats about it for now!

winter woes.

i hung up paper hearts and paper faces. some paper birds and one paper bear. i made freckles on my face and put a hat on alex. miles' photo looks really soft for some reason, its kind of blurred. i want to touch it.

this is me with out any neck. just a floating head, like in baron munchausen. i am a planet!

this is alex looking really warm.

i am not a fan of any of these photos, really. it was just a fun excersise to play with light and shadows in my kitchen. i havent felt exceptionally artistic or creative lately. i dont know what it is, ive been spending all my time reading books instead of being in the real world.
my friend tara and i are going to have a photo shoot in february. i have alot of good ideas and i think she will be an excellent model. she is kind of a cutie-bad ass.
i dont know why i take photos, i guess it is just fun for me.

when winter was summer.

this is alex. he is squinting in the warm sun. i know it isnt nice to post photos of your friends with their eyes closed, but it was such a nice day and it was so warm at the park and alex is handsome regardless of his eyes being in an open state or a closed sleepy state. i love you alex. catch some zzzzz's.

i finally plugged in the scanner. it wasnt that difficult. ho-hum.

p.s. my handsome and talented boyfriend has a rad blog...check it out here!

good morning good night.

last night was pitbull puppies, existentialism, quail creek, thieves, oooh on the TLC tip, vodka tonics, peacocks, 2 a.m. vegan "steak" sandwiches and lonley warm walks. there is nothing left of me this morning. i watched my girl two and drank a coca cola. i am suprised im typing. i woke up and took my photo because it was so early and the light was nice on my bed. i dont know how im going to function at work this evening. fucking DESTROYED it last night.

Thursday, January 15

santa cruz pt 1.

the three of us went on an epic journey, and too be honest, it had been too long since we had spent any quality time together. we took the one and enjoyed the warm day. we stopped at a beach and found a giant dead blue bird. he had a long yellow beak and huge flat feet. we climbed a steep cliff, found a newly deceased sea lion basking on the beach with a missing eye. i would like to believe she died at sea, of old age and came to the shore to spend her last moments asleep in the sun. we explored caves and played with flashlights. we crawled through the thick cave clay and saw spiders and breathed the musky cave air. we ate food from india and brazil. we made vegan pizzas and went to the farmers market. it was the best vacation. (and now i want to explore every cave in the world!)

photo 1 is the cliff we hiked down, photo two shows the remnants of the dock that stood in order load concrete. photo 3 is the giant sea lion. photo 4 is me, really haggard and sweating after tromping around cliffs and sand.

photo 5, 6, 7 are in the cave. it was so wonderfully dark, quiet and still. photo 8 is me after cave exploring. makeup everywhere, hair dreads, it was amazing.

these photos were of the beach with the dead sea bird. i have more neat feather shots and some gruesome bird goo, but who needs to see that?
