Teepee's and Movie Screens

Our Art Show was a success! Everything looked super clean, professional, and well put together. We had two levels of art displayed; In our dining room we had fine arts- paintings, drawings, and photography. Downstairs was a maze of activity. We had three differant interactive installations, two animations with amazing sounds and the teepee that I made. We also had two musical acts (PJ Wiebusch and Ashley Allred...both were phenomenal) about 80 people over, and so much good feedback. I was exhausted all day from cleaning and setting up the teepee that I didn't even think to take photos but, luckily Miles did. These are his, and there are more on his flickr. Thanks to everyone who came, it was so much fun!
(I also showed a section of my polaroid collection...about 280 of them on a 7ft by 7ft wall...It was super nostalgic and I was happy all my friends got to see themselves!)

MY LOVE FOR YOU

Remember the show at Needles and Pens I was going to a few Saturdays back? Well, it was amazing and it was curated by Meighan O'Toole from my favourite blog "My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses". As I was checking the blog this morning I found a photo of myself and my girl Tara at the show. It made me kind of giddy to be on my favourite blog even though I'm just drinking a tall can....anyways...check it out.
I need to post some serious shit, soon. Im working some hellish 9 day work weeks, but I will be back.

You've Got Light in Your Eyes

For the past few weeks, I have been a dedicated follower of the blog "My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses". Its an amazingly inspirational, thorough and exciting blog featuring artists from all around the country. The blog highlights art shows, artist interviews, and alot of Bay Area work.
When I found out that blog founder Meighan O'Toole was curating a show at Needles And Pens (a mere 2 BLOCKS FROM MY HOME!) I was ecstatic! The show is called "You've Got Light in Your Eyes" and it premiers tomorrow night. Lucky for me, I'm off work at 7 and will be heading straight to the show! If you get a chance to check it out, I strongly advise doing so. The artists that Meighan are featuring are unbelievable...sculptors, painters, drawers, etc. I feel so lucky to have this work so close to my house, and at one of my favourite shops. Its practically making me giddy!

its so perfect out

i love rain and clouds and the way the city smells clean after rain.

I found this flier at four barrel this morning while i was replenshing myself with delicious caffeine. both the pieces on the flier fucking RULE. I had never heard of either of these guys so i did some internet research...its pretty graffiti influenced-street art kinda art, and some of it is rad. The show will be up for a few weeks, i might try and go...If anyone is interested, there is more info here...

Also, surprise surprise, i went to POPS last night and got hammered with Maura. Are you tired of photobooth photos yet? how could you be?! they are fun and happy and silly and i guess sometimes boring if you arent in them...so here are my favourite frames from last night:

Oh my goodness. I think these are all horrible photos! I was too drunk and there were so many people around, my skills just werent flowing. Oh well! Chris' art looked wonderful, I hung out with some of my best BEST friends, and I danced!

More things to come soon, Miles and I will be embarking on a portrait project, and I have some days off. I am expecting good things. Love.
