santa cruz pt 1.
the three of us went on an epic journey, and too be honest, it had been too long since we had spent any quality time together. we took the one and enjoyed the warm day. we stopped at a beach and found a giant dead blue bird. he had a long yellow beak and huge flat feet. we climbed a steep cliff, found a newly deceased sea lion basking on the beach with a missing eye. i would like to believe she died at sea, of old age and came to the shore to spend her last moments asleep in the sun. we explored caves and played with flashlights. we crawled through the thick cave clay and saw spiders and breathed the musky cave air. we ate food from india and brazil. we made vegan pizzas and went to the farmers market. it was the best vacation. (and now i want to explore every cave in the world!)

photo 1 is the cliff we hiked down, photo two shows the remnants of the dock that stood in order load concrete. photo 3 is the giant sea lion. photo 4 is me, really haggard and sweating after tromping around cliffs and sand.

photo 5, 6, 7 are in the cave. it was so wonderfully dark, quiet and still. photo 8 is me after cave exploring. makeup everywhere, hair dreads, it was amazing.

these photos were of the beach with the dead sea bird. i have more neat feather shots and some gruesome bird goo, but who needs to see that?

film.

i took some film photos about two months ago with miles canon ae-1. i sued 1600 speed film and aimed to get contrasty shots. im not too impressed with any of these, but i think im gonna keep experimenting with film, and more specifically, contrast. anyways, i leanred alot today! miles taught me how to scan negatives and now i feel like i can learn anything!

Expired! Expired! Read All About It!

Expired film is a bitch. Sometimes it shows you magical colors. Sometimes it makes your hot and sexy friends look like grandparents. Sometimes it doesnt matter because its still a polaroid and you love it. So, if expired film is so difficult, why do I use it? Its cheaper and its a gamble. Duh.

Oh my goodness. I think these are all horrible photos! I was too drunk and there were so many people around, my skills just werent flowing. Oh well! Chris' art looked wonderful, I hung out with some of my best BEST friends, and I danced!
More things to come soon, Miles and I will be embarking on a portrait project, and I have some days off. I am expecting good things. Love.

The lost party pictures.

I was sort of most definitely drunk when I took these next photos, hence I forgot they existed when posting the last bunch. I busted out the sx-70 for the overexposed shot (drunkenly not considering the fact the lighting in the sky wasn't prime). The other two were shot with the trusty 600. Long live your automatic flash properties!

Sick Days.
Yesterday I called in sick. I needed it. Miles and I ate pie on the roof. Chris came over and we went on a long bike ride to the beach. I have sand in my back pockets and sea salt in my hair. IT was foggy at the beach so I only took these two photos, but I like them. Miles looks handsome, Chris looks intimidating. Hot.

Home.
Petaluma appears to be especially amazing when the San Francisco clouds have been napping over my head for the past six days and the Sonoma County skies are clearer than moonshine! I got a good kick of summertime nostalgia while cruising the sleepy town on my bike, 30 pack of tecate in tow, fresh picked peaches in a sack, and photo opportunities around every corner. Then again, I did have to deal with the Petaluma drivers not knowing how to tolerate a biker on the road, and almost being run off the road by people who think driving an SUV is still a good idea.

I bought a 30 pack for my little sister. It fit in my basket! Amazing!
My sister had a peach tree. I think i scored $40 worth of ripe peachy goodness.

New graff at the Phoenix Theater. METAL.

Me, being a nerd.
