this photo is from the "circus" themed shoot i did with alex and kathleen a few months ago. for some reason i get a sad, slightly holiday inspired feeling from this photo and it is perfect for summing up what this day has become.

Election Coverage.

I took these photos at Valencia and 19th, where the intersection was blocked off with people dancing, drinking, chanting, and playing instruments in the street. I really wish I would have had my digital on me, but alas, I only had polaroid.

Partners.

Miles is the genius behind these photos. He took them, he developed the negatives, and he erased the dust and grit in photoshop. These photos were taken while I was working on the "Circus" themed photos of Kathleen and Alex. If you click on them they will get large and you can see how beautiful they turned out. I am really impressed by the range of color and depth you can find in them, its quite amazing.
These photos were taken with a borrowed medium format camera, and I think the one of me is both creepy and sad. I kind of look like a tough mom or something.
You can look at more of Miles' photos here .

blues.

This photo of Kathleen was too dark to use. It was too dark and when I messed with it in photoshop all i could do was lighten it to see the actual image. Before I lightened it there was nothing there, just a shadow of a girl sitting in a chair with a mask on. I like the way it looks, it doesn't look professional, it doesn't look clean. It looks amateur and gritty. I think that's what I am, I do not have skills, I do not have knowledge, I just have my eyes to tell me what looks new and what looks good. I think Kathleen is a good model, don't you?

Taxi's and Rain and Kittens and Assholes and Friends.

Last night my pal returned from Prague. He was welcomed home with open arms, whiskey and beers and the first rain of the season. Fall is here and I'm happy my friend is home. I took some photos of us in a kitchen. The kitchen had a floral couch and a grey kitten. My spirit was a little damaged and I was quite soggy from my hour spent hailing a cab, but there are pictures, and I will post them. Im not too into many of the photos, but I do enjoy the portrait like snapshot of Jesse. He looks handsome and his skin looks like a movie star.

Expired! Expired! Read All About It!

Expired film is a bitch. Sometimes it shows you magical colors. Sometimes it makes your hot and sexy friends look like grandparents. Sometimes it doesnt matter because its still a polaroid and you love it. So, if expired film is so difficult, why do I use it? Its cheaper and its a gamble. Duh.

Sleepy and Quiet and Foggy and Cold.

I fell off my bike on Friday and since then, haven't had much use of my right hand. As I am a right handed lady, this has left me quite motionless in the creativity department. I've been spending too much time pawning over Whale Watching trips and the grand opening of the California Academy of Science building in Golden Gate. I'm a total nerd. I thought I would post some pretty photos I took prior to injuring this blasphemous hand of mine, enjoy.

Picture 1&2: My friends have a gorgeous house.
Picture 2: I have a shark tattoo thats hard to photograph.
Picture 3: Kathleen the Queen as a Monkey Man. Photoshopped.

Circus Circus

What happens when our faces come off? What if we are gorilla boys and fire eaters and catapault heroes? What if we awoke each morning in a colorful tent covered in firecrackers and musk? What if we went to work taming tigers and decorating ostritch feathers? We carry on our business as waitors, clerks, commuters, and tellers, but when we get home we step through doors and crawl under beds to become who we are; in our imaginations, in our dreams, in our nightmares.
